BAMBOO

CHAIR

For the chair design, the intention was to make a foldable chair that is stable in addition to having the flexibility of use. The rod at the back provides just the right amount of lower back support, while the slightly upward incline on the seat makes for an ergonomically comfortable sitting position.

The design celebrates bamboo as a material, exhibiting the strength stability inherent to it. Bamboo is harder and more durable than oak, which makes it very valuable when used well. The fibre in bamboo provides structural strength and load-bearing capacity, unlike other woods.

The chair is lightweight and incredibly sturdy. Keeping the use of other materials to a minimum, we only used small metal plates as hooks for the folding rod support.
